Stanford T. Young is the founder and President of Financial Clarity, Inc. He has been a professional investment manager and advisor since 1979. In addition, he has provided financial counseling services to a wide range of clients since 1984.

Mr. Young received a B.S. degree in Commerce when he graduated from the University of Virginia in 1979. He joined Philadelphia Life Insurance Company as a trader of stocks, bonds, and money market instruments. Later, as a Securities Analyst, he managed a $175 million sector of the main bond portfolio and a mutual fund. His final position with Philadelphia Life was as Director of Corporate Strategic Planning. As the senior planning officer, he worked with the top management of both Philadelphia Life and its parent company, Tenneco Inc., on all aspects of their business plans.

In 1982 Mr. Young enrolled in the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School MBA program and pursued an individualized major in personal financial planning. Upon graduation from Wharton in 1984 he joined Asset Management Group, which, at that time, was one of the largest fee-based financial planning firms in the nation. Mr. Young held increasingly responsible positions at that firm and was recognized as "Counselor of the Year" in 1985. His last position there was as Vice President, managing the West Coast office based in Los Angeles.

In 1988, he became Vice President and senior executive in charge of the financial counseling practice of a small investment bank in Palo Alto. There, he worked with a wide variety of clients including senior executives, professional athletes, "big six" accounting partners, retirees, lawyers, doctors, closely-held businesses, and charitable trusts.

Mr. Young founded Financial Clarity in 1992 to focus the new firm’s investment and financial expertise on a small group of clients. He has worked with executives employed by the following partial list of notable companies: Apple Computer, Ebay, Foundation Capital, Google, Hewlett Packard, Mattel, Mayfield Fund, Morgan Stanley, Motorola, New Enterprise Associates, Pacific Telesis, Schering-Plough, and Synopsys (Important Disclosures/Terms of Use §4). Mr. Young has also been quoted numerous times in national publications such as The Wall Street Journal.



Karina Chan Yu joined the firm in 1999 as a Financial Associate. Prior to becoming part of the Financial Clarity team she worked as a Foreign Exchange Consultant for First Federal Consulting. She graduated from Saint Peter’s College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics in 1997.



Gary Chang joined Financial Clarity as a Financial Analyst in 2008, after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Harvard University earlier in the year. Previously, he worked as an intern for the research and development team at Symantec Corporation. Gary was a National Merit Scholar, an AP Scholar, and received numerous mathematical awards, including qualifying for the USA Mathematical Olympiad.



Nick joined Financial Clarity as a Financial and Systems Analyst in 2008. He graduated earlier that year from San Jose State University with a B.S. in Finance. Previously, he worked as a Leasing Consultant and, also, as a Credit Manager for Wells Fargo.



Louis Ryan joined Financial Clarity in 2011 as a Financial Associate. He graduated from San Jose State University with a B.S. in Finance in May of 2010. Louis was a member of San Jose State's Golden Key International Honour Society. He was also a member of two school sponsored finance organizations.



Michel Shimabuku joined Financial Clarity as a Financial Associate in 2005. Previously, she has worked as a Registered Sales Associate with Smith Barney and as the Branch Manager's Assistant at UBS/Paine Webber. During her 10 years in the brokerage industry, Michel had a wide-range of experiences including coordinating venture capital distributions, facilitating stock option exercises, and handling customer service. Michel has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Santa Clara University.



Lifan Yang is Vice President of Financial Clarity. He joined the firm in 2003 as a Financial Analyst and later served as our Director of Financial Systems. Previously, he worked as a Business Analyst with C Bridge Internet Solutions and as a Technical Support Representative for Electronic Arts. Lifan graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 2000. He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2008.



Zheng Yu joined Financial Clarity in 2008 as a Financial Analyst. Previously, she worked as a Research Assistant in Finance at Mississippi State University (MSU) after receiving her M.S. degree in Business Administration (Finance). Prior to going to MSU for graduate school, Zheng worked as a Financial Accountant at China Merchants Bank. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Banking at ZhongNan University of Economics and Law in 2000.



Ahmed Elshimi joined Financial Clarity in 2006 as Data Director. Ahmed has an unsurpassed zeal for detail work that allows him to excel at his position. Previously, Ahmed worked at Shimad Corporation performing bank reconciliations, data entry, and document management.
